Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of the state has concluded plans to build 114 roads in the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
This was disclosed yesterday by the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Hon Abiodun Tobun representing Epe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
According to him, the governor has domiciled the money meant for the projects with the local councils so that the people could experience the dividends of democracy across the state.
Tobun said further in an interview that additional 80 roads would be constructed all over the state as he said that the 40 lawmakers in the assembly have submitted request for construction of two roads in each constituency in the state.
“There would be massive road construction in the state in 2016. Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) would increase in the state by 2016 and all revenue generating agencies would perform and the government would block all leakages through Treasury Single Account (TSA).”
