President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all universities in the country to introduce courses that will teach moral and leadership roles to serve as standard for fighting corruption at higher institutions of learning.
According to him doing so will ensure perfect governance structures at all levels
Buhari also charged all vice chancellors of federal and private universities and as well as all higher institutions to key into his administration policies of ensuring standard of higher learning in the tertiary institutions.
The president who was represented by the executive secretary of the National Universities Commission NUC, Professor Julius Okojie stated this yesterday in Jos during combined 27th and 28th convocation of the University of Jos which also coincided with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the university.
He said the present regime commend University of Jos for impacting legacies on the education sector as one of the key factors to development. Former head of state General Yakubu Gowon also commended the institution. He said the university has done exceptionally well over the years.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Hayward Mafuyai in his remark said one of the reasons for the success of the university is the emphasis the institution places on providing high quality teaching.
