Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko
Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party will begin its campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan today, following the inauguration of a presidential campaign council for the state.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko, while inaugurating the council on Saturday in Akure, tasked its members to ensure Jonathan received the promised one million votes from the state on February 14.
He admonished the council to work together as a team to deliver maximum votes for PDP in the elections, noting that the leaders were carefully selected by the state chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede.
Mimiko also urged them to sensitise the people on the need to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, which he described as the people’s electoral power to re-elect President Jonathan.
In his response the Director General of the campaign council, Tokumbo Modupe, promised not to disappoint the party, assuring that with the calibre of persons assembled for the job, the expected number of votes would be delivered to the PDP in the coming electoral exercise.
But a section of the state leadership of the party has faulted the composition of the committee.
