A white Chicago cop who lethally shot a dark 19-year-old undergrad and accidently murdered a neighbor has documented a claim against the young person's domain, contending the shooting left him damaged.
The unordinary claim was documented Friday in the midst of city pioneers' endeavors to win back general society's trust after a few instances of affirmed police wrongdoing.
Robert Rialmo's claim gives the officer's first open record of how he says the Dec. 26 shooting happened. It says Rialmo opened flame after Quintonio LeGrier swung a bat at his head at short proximity.
LeGrier's dad, Antonio LeGrier, documented a wrongful passing claim saying his child wasn't a danger. His lawyer, Basileios Foutris, did not return messages looking for input on the countersuit.
