2 Brothers In Court For Alleged Theft Of N14,000

Two brothers, Adewunmi Adewale,37, and Aderogba Adewale,34, on Wednesday appeared in an Ota Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft of N14,000.

The accused with no fixed addresses, were arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ebibomuno Itaita, told the court that the accused committed the offences at Veepee Area, Sango-Ota, on Aug.15, 2015.

He said that they conspired among themselves to steal a cash of N14,000 property of Mohammed Abubarkar.

Itaita said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun,2006.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N25,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
Odubanjo said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed.

She also said that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and submit one year tax clearance payment to Ogun State.

In addition, the surety must submit four recent passport photographs to the court and possess reasonable mean of identification.

She adjourned the case till March 18 for hearing.(NAN)
