The Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, on Tuesday advised hoodlums to leave Lagos or prepare to face the wrath of the law.
The duo, who spoke at the Second Quarterly Town Hall meeting with Lagos residents said the authorities would do all it could to rid the state of crime and its attendant vices.
Ambode said the state was investing heavily in social infrastructure and security in order to improve the lives of the residents.
‘’I am happy to report that our state is a lot safer today as statistics show that crime rate reduced by 65% during the last quarter compared to 2014 ,” he said.
Owoseni, in his remarks at the event said the command had decided to sanitise parts of Lagos Island known for crime. However, he said for the battle to be won, there had to be active collaboration between the residents and crime fighters.
He said residents should be wary of abandoned vehicles as hoodlums now use such to store weapons.
