The remains of Rose were discovered by neighbours who traced an offensive odour in the surrounding to her room.
A student, who is one of the neighbours of the deceased, said Ajagun was last seen on Tuesday, adding that her death was a mystery.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Enuowa Police Division, Mr. Kunle Omisakin, said preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased might be ill. He said she locked herself up inside her room and had nobody to attend to her until she died.
He said “The incident happened because Evelyn’s neighbours were students who had travelled home for the New Year break and only found her corpse upon returning to town.”
The DPO stated that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the Ondo State Specialists Hospital’s morgue while investigation was ongoing.
Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Moses Akinfolarin, were unsuccessful, as his telephone line was not going through.
