Christmas was awful for dealers in the prevalent Sango Market, Ibadan as flame destroyed more than 200 shops in the board area of the business sector.
The flame purportedly began around 3pm, blazed for a few hours and as at 8pm, regardless it hadn't been put out.
As indicated by data accumulated, boards assessed at over N250m was lost in the catastrophe.
The Oyo State Fire Service at long last reacted to the inferno and was seen dashing towards Eleyele Water Works for a refill when it came up short on water.
A broker in the business sector said the flame began after he cleared out his shop.
He said: "Soon after I took care of a client who called me on telephone, I had the call that the shops had burst into flames".
Another merchant Mr. Afolabi said a few sawing machines and other logging hardware were lost in the flame.
He included: "Each time the vehicle left to refill water, we lost more shops in light of the fact that the flame would acquire ground.
Bear in mind this is the time when fire episodes are uncontrolled in light of the fact that we are in the dry season.
More fire administration vehicles are expected to prevent conceivable overnight fire here. As should be obvious, we now pay to bring water tanker to offer the flame some assistance with servicing men."
