Every member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives is to donate N10,000 as their contribution to the Nigerian Legion in appreciation of the efforts of military officers and men who died fighting for the country.
House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila came up under a matter of urgent national importance to draw members’ attention to the need to support federal government’s efforts at bringing smiles to the faces of relatives of the fallen heroes.
Gbajabiamila recalled that Buhari had on Monday, launched the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem with ten million Naira on behalf of the Nigerian government.
In adopting the motion, the House agreed that its leadership; comprising ten principal officers, would ensure that the 3.6 million Naira expected from the 360 members would be rounded up to 5 million Naira as its contribution to the plight of Nigeria’s heroes and heroines.
