Jigawa government has concluded plans to construct 1,330 houses for civil servants in the state, Alhaji Babangida Umar, the Managing Director, Jigawa Savings and Loans Limited, has disclosed.

Umar told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday that the houses, comprising of two and three bedroom apartments, would be spread across the 27 local government areas of the state.

According to him, the project will be handled by the Jigawa State Housing Authority (JSHA) as Technical Partners, in collaboration with the Jigawa Savings and Loans Limited and the Federal Savings and Loans as financiers.

He said construction would commence in November, to be completed within four or five months.

“These houses are going to be built for teachers and Local Government staff, who would acquire them on loan and pay back within 10 to 15 years.

“The three bedroom flats will cost N3.4 million, while the two bedroom apartments will cost N1.2million,” he said.

The managing director said the aim of the gesture was to boost the morale of the civil servants and enable them own houses. (NAN)
