Nigeria's next door neighbour, Benin Republic is poised for museum greatness as Ouidah Museum of History has been nominated in the Leading Culture Destinations 2015 awards which is like the 'Oscar' for museums.
The museum was one of those shortlisted in the Best Emerging Culture Destination of the Year (Africa category).
Other museums in that category include Museum Mohammed VI, Rabat (Morocco), Museum MMP +, Marrakech (Morocco) and Thread by Foundation Annie & Josef Albers, Sinthian (Senegal).
