Punch also reports that the Chief Security Officer, Bashir Abubarkar, was informed by the National Security Adviser, Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.), that the payment of the allowance was illegal.
Reports reaching Pulse News say President Buhari has ordered that payments of the Risk and Hazard Allowance to security operatives in the Villa, be stopped.
According to Punch Newspapers, a source who spoke under anonymity said the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the President, Lt. Col. Muhammed Abubakar, informed heads of all the security agencies in the Aso-Rock Villa, of the new directive by the President.
Punch reports that the source said “About two weeks ago, an assistant superintendent of one of the agencies called us and told us that the ADC met all the heads of the security agencies in the Villa where the news was broken to them.”
Adding that “Our own head also met us and warned us to desist from carrying rumours about the money. He said that the ADC told them that no money was being released to the guards, as being speculated.”
