A 88-year-old man, Pa Adeola Ajidahun has been remanded in jail guardianship by an Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos for purportedly swindling more than 15 individuals to the tune of a N100m under the affectation of offering grounds to them at the Lekki Resettlement Schemes in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of the state.
Ajidahun who hails from Ekiti State was caught after he supposedly duped one Kehinde Ola to the tune of N30m
The 88-year-old, who lives at 89, Karimu Laka road, Egbeda range of the state persuaded Ola into paying for an area which he affirmed was assigned to him by the State government.
He was said to have created fake records on the said area and later took Ola to review the range in Lekki close by his specialists, Felix Olu Fadare.
Ola, who did not suspect anything was not right, paid for the area through his bank, unknownly, the area Ajidahun sold to him fit in with another family in the range.
Ajidahun was claimed to have cheated a few others utilizing the area. One of his casualty, Tony Ezeoke, was said to have lost over N10 million on the same area.
On seeing the misrepresentation, Ola requested of the Anti-Special Fraud Unit, SFU, appended to the Lagos State Police Command prompting his capture and resulting arraignment.
The blamed was summoned for scheme, acquiring under false misrepresentation and taking under the Criminal Code.
Affirming in court, the prosecutor, Mr Boniface Asogwara said the octogenarian got the cash from Ola under the bogus affectation of offering plots of area at Lekki in Eti-Osa Local Government, Lagos.
The managing Magistrate, Mrs. O. O. Oshin conceded Ajidahun safeguard in the aggregate of N500,000 with two sureties in like entirety, including that one of the sureties must be a common hireling of level 16 and must show apparent of assessment leeway for a long time.
Ajidahun's failure to motivate some individual to impeccable his safeguard prompted him been remanded in Ikoyi jail.
Oshin however suspended the case till October.
