The inspector general of police, IGP Solomon Arase has appointed a new Force public relations officer, FPRO.
She is acting assistant commissioner of police, ACP Olabisi Alofe Kolawole.
This was made known by the deputy force spokesman, CSP Abayomi Shogunle in a statement in which he said the IGP also appointed acting ACP Idowu Owohunwa as the new principal staff officer, PSO.
Kolawole becomes the first female police officer to be appointed Force spokesman and replaces former spokesman, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu who has been deployed to Kogi State to be in charge of the state command.
Before their appointments, Kolawole was the Force Gender Adviser while Owohunwa was the Personal Assistant (PA) to the current IGP. Both appointments take immediate effect.
According to Shogunle, Kolawole’s appointment is geared towards harnessing the enormous potentials among Nigerian female Police officers.
