Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has called on governors and other political office holders in the country to emulate President Muhammadu Buhari’s style of leadership centred on the doctrine of change in order to sustain the respect and cooperation of the international community.
Addressing newsmen on the benefits of the president’s recent trip to the United States, Al-Makura said that the visit has changed the negative perception about Nigeria.
He explained that the visit will open a new vista for the country in the areas of commerce, foreign direct investment and security, especially in the areas of intelligence sharing.
The governor said that a committee will be set up to handle the issues discussed in the USA that will articulate the areas of interest and create enabling environment for policy implementation.
Al – Makura added that Nasarawa State also tabled three areas of concern which include agriculture, solid minerals development and power.
He disclosed that the state is conducive for commercial agriculture and that discussion is on how to reduce bottlenecks and bureaucracy hindering investment in the solid minerals sector.
He maintained that as part of the gains of the visit, he had discussion with two conglomerates that specialised in solid minerals sector that will visit the country soon and fine tune ways of collaboration in harnessing the abundant solid minerals in the state.
