The near death experience (NDE) refers to the range of activities experienced by people who have died, journeyed into the afterlife only to return back to earth. This phenomenon has been in existence since hundreds of years ago and became increasingly popular in the past 4 decades. Many of these experiences have occurred during death at hospitals. NDErs report 'being sent back' to their earthly bodies as they hadn't accomplished their missions on earth.
Typically, experiencers uniformly report:
1) to have left their bodies floating above 'it',
2) being at an elevated angle in the medical room and observing the people and activities around,
3) having an incredible sense of peace, noticing a bright intense white light afar at the end of a gray tunnel,
4) leaving the medical scene and floating through the tunnel (oftentimes with a spirit guide or angel),
5) bursting out into a very beautiful, melodic, majestic place, called heaven and feeling from the light the most UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and BLISS never experienced on earth. This LOVE they describe as being more than 100 times any ecstasy they experienced while on earth. Many said they realized that this was home. They were home.
6) seeing dead relatives and having a family reunion and joy. Some report seeing religious figures, esp Jesus Christ who welcome them.
7) undergoing a life review in which their whole life from birth to death played out on a screen. This is usually an emotionally-wrecking stage as every detail of their life is re-lived again. At this point they realize the main reason for man's existence on earth, which is to love and love. They watch their whole lives and see how their actions positively and negatively affected others. They felt the joy they caused others by their kind deeds and also felt the pain and anguish they caused those times they were mean and unkind. They discovered that it was the little but kind actions they performed that mattered after all and all earthly pursuits, fame, money, cars, achievement were all specks of dust lost in an ocean. They also realized that no one was judging them but themselves. It was the love we performed that mattered. It is a measure of our spiritual growth and evolution. Religion and creed are insignificant in the afterlife, much to their astonishment. They realized that one's spirituality was more important than religion. They also realized that God loves everybody equally and would never condemn any of his own.
8. being told they had to return to earth as their mission on earth isn't complete. This they reluctantly and defiantly want not to. However, they return to earth.
9) Waking up in the hospital bed, severally after being pronounced dead by the doctors for several minutes/hours, much to the astonishment of the medical practitioners. They usually felt angry for returning and wished they had never returned. At times, they wake up during resuscitation attempts by the doctors. Surely, life on earth is nothing compared to the afterlife.
10) They become more loving and kind on return. Hard-die materialists become easy-going kind people. They become more spiritual and less religious. They come back with a message and mission, that GOD IS REAL AND LOVE IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE. Earthly pursuits are only vanity.
The near-death experience is a forum in which spiritually-minded people who wish to find out more on man's purpose on earth and the afterlife discover the real truth, discard unnecessary bland beliefs and lead spiritually rewarding lives.
