Equipped criminals have given dead a minister of the Lord's Chosen Church in the Ijesha region of Lagos. The expired, recognized as Chukwuemeka Akpokpo, who was driving one of the congregation's transports, was purportedly assaulted by the looters on Monday at Alakoso Avenue, off Ijesha transport stop.
The minister was said to be coming back with a whole of cash gathered from a bank at Apple Junction, FESTAC Town, when the occurrence happened. He was said to have been shot in the head, while the criminals carried off the cash.
An inhabitant, who asserted to be an observer and recognized himself just as Cornelius, said the burglars, who were two on a cruiser, had hidden in the zone, sitting tight for the pastor.
He said, "It was at around 3pm. The minister was shot by furnished thieves at Alakoso Avenue, off Ijesha transport stop. The assault and the slaughtering of the minister demonstrated that it was taking into account data.
"They had been prowling around the region for some time, however nobody suspected that anything was fishy. When they saw the congregation vehicle drawing nearer, they halted him and asked where the cash was.
"The minister answered, 'Which cash?' They didn't even sit tight for any clarification. One of the looters went inside the vehicle and took the cash. The other group part then shot him in the head."
It was learnt that Akpokpo was raced to a branch of the congregation in the Ijesha range, and afterward to a clinic, where he was affirmed dead.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, affirmed the episode, including that the matter had been exchanged to the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba.
