A thunderous blast has again exploded in another crowded commercial area in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
Early information reaching PREMIUM TIMES suggest that the blast occurred along the popular Baga Road area of Maiduguri.
A source who was at the area said, “it occurred very close to one Maikore Oil filling station here in Baga Road. I can’t give any detail because we are all running as soldiers near the area are busy shooting in the air. But the spot at which it occurred was usually very crowded”.
It is yet unclear if there were casualties.
The blast followed a series of bomb and grenade attacks launched by suspected Boko Haram militants in Maiduguri since Friday when Muhammadu Buhari took over as Nigerian president.
On Tuesday, dozens were killed at an abattoir in an attack by a suicide bomber.
