West Brom manager Tony Pulis questioned the two red cards in his side’s FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Claudio Yacob and Jack Grealish were both dismissed for two bookings as both sides ended the tie with 10 men.
Fabian Delph and Scott Sinclair scored to send Villa into the semi-finals, but Pulis was disappointed midfielder Yacob was dismissed for what he thought was a fair challenge on Leandro Bacuna.
"That's not a sending off,” he told reporters.
"Yac has had three touches before he blows up. I thought the linesman had said something but I have spoken to [referee] Anthony [Taylor] and he has made the decision.
"I don't know what Grealish got sent off for, I was amazed when he showed him the red card."
Villa boss Tim Sherwood, meanwhile, was delighted to secure a trip to Wembley in the last four as they registered their second win over West Brom in five days.
Tuesday’s 2-1 win over the Baggies moved them out of the Premier League relegation zone and Saturday’s cup victory caps a good week for Villa.
Although the end of the game was marred by a pitch invasion, Sherwood was full of praise for the supporters after their morale-boosting victory.
"It's huge and the players want to dedicate it to the fans,” he said.
“The fans have had some hard times here and everyone at the club realises we need them."
