Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Emenike, ended his dry goal spell on Saturday when he grabbed Fenerbahce’s second goal in their 2-1 victory over Karabukspor in the Turkish Super League.
Emenike, who last scored on November 2, 2014 in the 2-0 win at Besiktas, scored his third goal of the season in the 58th minute after Selcuk Sahin had given the away side the lead in the seventh minute.
Emenike later apologised for celebrating the goal in respect to the club where he notched 30 goals in 50 appearances.
Also, Former Golden Eaglets striker, Ganiyu Oseni, scored his first goal on his first appearance for his new club, Binh Duong, in their 3-1 victory over Can Tho in the Vietnamese Super League on Sunday.
The former U-23 player, who joined Binh Duong from Dong Tam Long in the January transfer window, scored the second goal of the match in the 33rd minute after Abass Dieng had opened scoring in the 30th minute for the away side.
In England, Sammy Ameobi also scored in Newcastle United’s 3-0 win over Sone Aluko’s Hull City on Saturday.
Ameobi, who has not started after former coach Alan Pardew’s departure, scored in the 50th minute to double Newcastle’s lead. The goal was his second in the league this season.
The 22-year-old was substituted in the 90th minute while Aluko also made a 56th minute appearance as Hull struggled to come back into the game.
In Belgium, 19-year-old Nigerian forward, Moses Simon, scored a hattrick for Gent on Sunday in their 3-3 draw against Sporting Lokeren.
The player, who joined Gent from As Trencin of Slovakia in the January transfer window, was making his first start and second appearance for the Belgian club. He grabbed the goals in the sixth, 16th and 72nd minutes.
