Mario Balotelli scored his maiden Premier League goal for Liverpool with seven minutes remaining to give the Reds a 3-2 win over Tottenham at Anfield.
The Italian came on as a substitute and turned home from close range to hand Liverpool all three points after an entertaining encounter in which Spurs had twice come from behind.
Lazar Markovic gave the hosts the lead with a low effort from just inside the area, before Harry Kane scored his fifth goal in three games as his shot from 12 yards out went through Simon Mignolet’s legs.
Steven Gerrard regained Liverpool’s lead from the penalty spot after Daniel Sturridge was brought down by Danny Rose, but Mousa Dembele levelled again on 61 minutes before Balotelli’s late winner.
The result leaves Liverpool in seventh, with the Reds now just a solitary point behind sixth-placed Tottenham and three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
