The abducted expatriates whose names were given as Muntaz Ahmad, a Pakistani, Ghatar Abdul (Pakistan) and an Indian accountant with the company, Sriri Rao, were abducted by unknown gunmen last week and their whereabouts are still unknown.
It was learnt that the policemen who were supposed to be on guard duty in the home of the expatriates, did not fire a shot during the invasion of the gunmen which lasted for 45 minutes, thus raising the suspicion of security operatives who believe they may have a hand in the kidnapping, hence their arrest invasion.
Punch Newspaper reports that the kidnappers, numbering about six, were reported to have entered the community through the river, shooting sporadically into the air to scare away the residents of the community and after seizing the men, left on the same route with their victims.
A community source said a ranking official of Elmerit had arrived at the state in company with the special squad of policemen and Department of State Service operatives to arrest the policemen.
He added that the arrest had added another dimension to the incident.
