Ado Ekiti – The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has condemned the 19 All Progressive Congress, APC, lawmakers in the state House of Assembly for claiming they held a legislative session in an undisclosed location in the state last week.

The party challenged them to explain the purpose of the money they confessed to have collected from governor Ayo Fayose and justify the rationale and motive behind collecting such huge amount of money in this period when the finances of the state is in coma
In a statement issued by the PDP and signed by the party’s chairman, Chief Idowu Faleye in Ado Ekiti yesterday, the party noted that the ‘former speaker’, Hon Adewale Omirin and his colleagues are only dishing out lies and falsehood to the people of the state
The PDP chairman said investigation conducted by him has proved that nowhere in the state did such a legislative meeting take place
He equally lambasted Omirin for owing up that the only financial transaction between the lawmakers and Fayose was meant for the fuelling of their vehicles
Faleye described the action of the speaker as corruption and indecency, saying that any reasonable person would know that only people of shady deals will be collecting such money from the governor each time they paid him a visit.
The PDP boss condemned the decision by Dr Omirin and his APC colleagues for running from pillar to post from Lagos to Oshogbo without coming to Ekiti State House of Assembly to perform the functions they were elected for,
Faleye noted that; ‘’The former speaker and his co-travellers should bury their heads in shame for denying their state good and robust legislation rather turn themselves into opposition of Ekiti renascence.’’
He equally frowned at the statement credited to Omirin that he and his colleagues sat and carried out some legislative duties when in actual fact there was nothing of such.
Faleye urged Omirin to displayed some level of maturity by naming the exact location and time of the sitting either within Ekiti or outside the state.
