ARYG further stated that Obasanjo’s attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan, was unfortunate because as a former president, he had unrestricted access to the Presidential Villa to discuss whatsoever, and described his action as unstatesmanlike.
The group leader, Mr. Abimbola Owolabi, who spoke against the backdrop of the recent attack by Obasanjo on President Jonathan, said it was difficult to believe that Obasanjo was still a member of the PDP.
He wondered why Obasanjo could not respect the provisions of the constitution of the party, especially the section that frowned on bringing the name of the party to disrepute.
“Obasanjo is not only denigrating the presidency, the person of Jonathan and the ruling party, which he claims to be a member by his constant lies, unwarranted attacks and mischievous blackmail to portray President Jonathan as weak, corrupt and dictatorial, but also manifestly executing the propaganda of the APC whose members he now hobnobs with,” he said.
Meanwhile, it was recently uncovered that the recent verbal attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo is based on the fact that the president Jonathan has refused to do Obasanjo’s bidding.
It would be recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, again condemned incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan for not doing enough to bring an end to the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
