The explosion which occurred along the Maiduguri road opposite NNPC filling station in Hotoro area of Kano killed unspecified number of people and injured several others.
Residents say the explosion was so loud itbshook many buildings in the area.
As usual, a team of soldiers and policemen, as well as firefighters, were seen moving in to cordon off the area.
